PhilanthropyWestern Athletic Clubs (WAC) has long been a company with a charitable soul. Like many of our club members, we believe that actions speak louder than words, especially when it comes to fulfilling our mission statement, "We Enhance People's Lives." Since opening our doors in 1977, WAC has been fully engaged in supporting charitable organizations and volunteerism. In 2007 we contributed $2.5 million to community programs, which includes cash donations as well as money raised by our clubs plus donated memberships, services, and equipment. We believe that philanthropy isn't just something for large corporations, tech tycoons, or the super wealthy. Individuals and companies of all shapes and sizes must play a more active role in their communities to create truly vibrant neighborhoods and healthy, active community members.
